I'm always surprised by the amount of resistance I get when I suggest refreshing the space with paint. Even last night in the Feng Shui Work Group, people were protesting about painting: "oh, that's so much work!" .... "I don't know what color." .... "first I have to fix the wall underneath." ... "the color I want doesn't match the rug/comforter/curtains/furniture." Yep, I've heard them all!
In fairness, even I've created resistance to the simple act of painting. Did you read last week's blog "The Stand off" that referenced one our home painting projects? Well truth be told that project is only 1/3 done. I need $75 more paint in a different color (A gorgeous color! Our space will be dreamy! I'll be so happy!) Yet I keep finding other things to spend that $75 on. So our space remains half done ... and I'm stalling on giving myself dreamy and happy!
I know I'll be thrilled when the walls are done. And I can't tell you how many clients have come to me after giving in and painting their walls to tell me how much better the space feels, how much they love it, and how they can't believe they put it off for so long! It's simple science really. Color IS vibration. Adding or changing the color shifts the whole vibration of the space, and that has a physical impact on your own vibration and well being. So, if you're looking for that big impact change ... go buy yourself some paint and get your hands dirty for one day. It's only paint!
Happy Feng Shui-ing!
