Our kids are growing up in such a fast paced and technology filled world now! More than ever kids need a quiet space for rest and contemplation. And kids are even more sensitive to the invisible energies surrounding us, so it's more important for us to pay attention to how their room supports them.
A child's bedroom should be reserved for rest and contemplation. This is best attained by:
-- using warm, cozy colors and textiles
-- keep activating toys and electronics in another space (these items keep the room "awake"!)
-- keeping under the bed clear of storage items
-- de-cluttering clothes and other items that are no longer serving them (kids evolve quickly! Give them room to grow.)
If your child presents with sleeping difficulties or behavioral challenges, take some time to sit in their bedroom and notice things from their perspective:
-- Does their bed feel comfortable and supportive where it's located within the room?
-- Is there something unsettling looming over them?
-- Are there questionable shadows that appear at night?
-- Are there noises that are disturbing to their sleep?
I feel strongly about the role feng shui can play in the well-being of our children! In my own home I've seen how simple changes to my kids' rooms have made a big difference in supporting them in many ways. I encourage you to spend some extra time softening up the energies in your child's sleeping space. Everyone will be better off for it!
If you need extra support in this consider booking a Feng Shui Strategy Session by phone or a private Feng Shui Consultation (on site or by phone). You can find details about either option here. Together we can find the best way to create a calm and supportive place for your child!
Happy Feng Shui-ing!
