I usually like to blame it all on my kids;-) They definitely play a role, because it's hard to stay focused when I'm hearing "mom, mum, mmoooomm" in stereo all day long. But honestly I can't keep using them as an excuse. I know I'm feeling this way because I've stopped consistently doing the things that help me focus and stay grounded. I'm not being mindful. I'm not taking care of my body. I'm not taking the time to connect with the guidance of my highest self. I haven't really even been fully harnessing the energies of my environment. (Hello? Feng shui anyone!!) Lately, I haven't been deliberate and purposeful about what's truly important to me and how I want to BE ... but that's about to change.
To me there are 4 key foundational blocks in life - mind - body - spirit - and home. When I give each of them a little bit of my attention each day, I'm much more focused, happy and successful. I know what I should be doing! I've read books, taken courses, studied for certifications that all support a holistically balanced life. The problem is, I'm not very accountable to myself. I put clients first, family first, the to-do list first, and suddenly the things I really need for my well-being are neglected. That's why I decided to make myself accountable by facilitating this whole change-process in a new online group program!
Back to Basics - Mind - Body - Spirit - Home starts this Monday, July 10th. It's a four week online group program. You can participate from the comfort of home or from where ever you're vacationing this summer. The program is designed to be portable and revisited as necessary to make it easy during a summer in flex. I'll be sharing daily prompts via email with tips and tools to help declutter, clarify and refocus in each of the four areas.
I'm super excited to have four amazing contributors who will pop by during the program to share new techniques, support materials and inspiring stories: Eileen Kelley Vallantini will share some energy exercises for mental clarity, Peg Doyle will share healthy recipes and tips for eating at summer events, Maria Salomao-Schmidt will guide us to reconnect to our higher knowledge and Kate Lanagan MacGregor will share her inspiring story of recovering from a broken back -- I've seen her do a cartwheel! She'll inspire you to rethink your days so you can live boldly for a long time to come.
My personal goal for the program is to give all these things I know 'should' work a try again, and to try all the new things presented by these talented contributors. By the end of the program I hope to have created a short manageable and do-able daily routine that will help me give a bit of attention to the four foundational blocks - mind - body - spirit - and home -- so that I'm feeling clarity and focus and maybe even some joy(?!) as I move through each day. What would your personal goal be?
I hope you'll join me and other group members as we take a collective step back for a few weeks this summer to clarify and connect with life again.
