In feng shui, bedrooms are the place that we go to escape the rest of the world. Bedrooms represent our true inner self, a place where we can express ourselves freely because we know no one else is looking. Bedrooms should be a sanctuary where you can find a quiet place to rest and space to re-connect with yourself and your partner.
Sleep and intimacy are things that we need to have, and they make us better humans all around because we have them! Defend your space for these things by keeping anything that distracts from these activities out of the bedroom. There are plenty of other places for watching tv, playing on computer, working, exercising, or connecting with non-romantic family members! If your bedroom must include space for those activities try to keep it screened off or at least close it down and cover it at night while you sleep.
Take a walk into your bedroom and look around, or if you're not home right now, visualize walking into your bedroom. Notice what you see, and pay attention to how you feel. Is your bedroom supporting the quiet and calm that you need to rest? Are you surrounded by things that encourage sensuality and connection? If you're not in a relationship are you sending the message that you're open to one? Please feel free to share what you notice about your bedroom in the comments below.
